Privacy Policy
Effective Date: July 27, 2026
1. Introduction
Ruh, LLC (“Company,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) operates the Ruhview mobile application (“App”) and related services (collectively, the “Service”). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our Service.
Please read this Privacy Policy carefully. By using the Service, you consent to the practices described in this policy.
2. Information We Collect
Information You Provide
- Account information: name, email address, username, avatar photo, city, and bio
- User content: ratings, reviews, photos, lists, comments, poll votes, group activity, and messages
- Communications: feedback, suggestions, and support requests you send us
Contacts
If you use the invite feature, the App reads your contacts on your device only, so you can pick people to invite by text message. Your contacts are never uploaded to our servers, and contact names are masked in the session recordings described in Section 3.
Location
You can set a home city by typing it or by using your device’s location (converted to a city name on your device). Features that find nearby places send your coordinates to our servers to run that search. We do not keep a history of your precise movements.
Information From Third Parties
- If you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive your name, email address, and profile photo as provided by those services
Information Collected Automatically
- Device information: device type, operating system, and app version
- Usage data: screens viewed, features used, taps, searches, and time spent
- Session recordings and crash logs, as described in Section 3
- Technical data: IP address and performance metrics
- Push notification tokens (if you enable notifications)
3. Analytics, Session Recordings, and Crash Reporting
We want to be direct about this: we use analytics and diagnostic tools, connected to your account, so we can find and fix problems and improve the App.
- Product analytics (PostHog): we record usage events (screens, taps, feature usage) and session recordings — replays of how the App looked as you used it. Text you type is masked, including passwords, sign-in codes, searches, and anything you write in a message. Private message content and the names of people in your contacts are masked as well. Other content on the screen does appear in these recordings, including photos and cover images on entries, reviews, and profiles, so that we can see and fix problems in the App.
- Crash and performance reporting (Sentry): when the App crashes or slows down, we receive a technical report that may include your user ID, device information, and what the App was doing at the time.
This data is used only to operate, debug, and improve the Service. We do not sell it, we do not use it for third-party advertising, and we do not track you across other companies’ apps or websites.
4. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide, maintain, and improve the Service
- Create and manage your account
- Personalize your experience, including recommendations and compatibility features
- Send push notifications (with your permission) about activity relevant to you
- Diagnose and fix bugs and crashes, including by reviewing usage data and session recordings
- Understand how features are used so we can improve them
- Enforce our Terms of Service and protect against misuse
- Respond to your inquiries and provide customer support
- Comply with legal obligations
5. AI Features
Some searches in the App are interpreted with the help of artificial intelligence: your search query may be sent through our servers to Google’s Gemini API to better understand what you are looking for. We do not send your private messages, contacts, or account details to AI systems.
Parts of our catalog (such as product descriptions and metadata) are curated with the assistance of AI tools before they appear in the App.
6. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your personal information.
We share information only as described below:
Service Providers
- Supabase — authentication, database hosting, and file storage
- Expo / EAS — push notification delivery and app updates
- PostHog — product analytics and session recordings (Section 3)
- Sentry — crash and performance reporting (Section 3)
- Apple and Google — sign-in authentication
Content and Search Partners
To show catalog content, your device or our servers contact these sources, which may see standard technical data such as your IP address and the content requested:
- The Movie Database (TMDB) — movie and TV data and poster images
- Open Library — book data and cover images
- Geoapify — place search and address lookups
- OpenFreeMap / OpenStreetMap — map tiles
- Google Gemini — AI-assisted search (Section 5)
- Product images may load directly from the websites of the brands and retailers in our catalog, and link previews fetch the site being linked
Legal Requirements
We may disclose your information if required to do so by law or in response to valid legal requests (e.g., a court order or subpoena), or if we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, your safety, or the safety of others.
Business Transfers
If Ruh, LLC is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. Any successor entity will be bound by the terms of this Privacy Policy with respect to your previously collected information.
7. Your Profile and Public Information
Certain information you provide is visible to other users of the Service, including your username, display name, avatar, bio, city, reviews, ratings, photos, and lists. Content you post in a private group is visible to that group’s members. Messages you send through the Service are private and visible only to the participants of the conversation.
8. Data Retention
We retain your account information and User Content for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal information within 30 days, though some information may persist in encrypted backups for a limited period.
Analytics, session recordings, and crash reports are retained by our providers for limited periods before being deleted or aggregated. Anonymized and aggregated data that cannot identify you may be retained indefinitely to improve the Service.
9. Data Security
We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your information, including encryption in transit (TLS/SSL), encryption at rest for stored data, and secure authentication protocols.
However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your information, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.
10. Your Choices and Rights
- Permissions: contacts, location, photos, and notifications are all optional — the App works without them, and you can change permissions anytime in your device Settings
- Your content: you can edit or delete your own reviews, comments, lists, and photos in the App
- Account deletion: you can request deletion of your account and personal data by contacting support@ruhview.com; we will complete it within 30 days
- Do Not Track: we do not track you across third-party websites or apps, and the Service does not respond to browser “Do Not Track” signals
11. Your Rights — California Residents (CCPA)
If you are a California resident, you have the following rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA):
- Right to Know: You may request that we disclose the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you
- Right to Delete: You may request that we delete the personal information we have collected from you, subject to certain exceptions
- Right to Opt-Out of Sale: We do not sell personal information. If this changes in the future, we will provide a clear opt-out mechanism
- Right to Non-Discrimination: We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of your CCPA rights
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at support@ruhview.com. We will respond to verifiable requests within 45 days.
12. Age Requirement
The Service is intended for adults. You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If we become aware that a person under 18 has provided us with personal information, we will take steps to delete such information promptly.
If you believe someone under 18 has provided us with personal information, please contact us at support@ruhview.com so we can take appropriate action.
13. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you through the App or by other reasonable means. Your continued use of the Service after such changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised Privacy Policy.
